How P Chidambaram's legal team plans to rescue former Finance Minister

Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister has been untraceable since 4:30 pm on Tuesday following the developments in the INX Media case. Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court dismissed Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea. Following this, teams of CBI and ED officials reached his residence separately but were unable to find Chidambaram, who is also said to have switched off his phones. The ED issued a look-out circular in connection with the case.
However, the Congress leader's counsels are trying to rescue the former Finance Minister from this situation and have approached the Supreme Court. Sources close to his son Karti Chidambaram have told that the legal team will base their case in the Supreme Court on 10 arguments.

Congress Dumps "Proof" Of Loan Waiver Outside Shivraj Singh Chouhan's House

BHOPAL: Senior Congress leader Suresh Pachouri today dumped bundles of documents at the residence of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as "proof" that his party has waived off loans of 21 lakh farmers after coming to power in the state in December last year.
However, Mr Chouhan refuted the Congress' claims, dubbing it as a "bundle of lies".
Former Union minister Mr Pachouri along with state minister PC Sharma and other Congress leaders brought cartons of documents in two vehicles. They then put the cartons on their heads and walked to the former chief minister's official residence where they dumped the documents.
The Congress claimed that these documents proved that the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh has acted on the party's pre-poll promise of waiving off farm loans.

Ramdev's U-Turn: Backs Narendra Modi As PM Again With 'Vote For BJP' Call

Yoga guru Ramdev today gave a fresh endorsement for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a move seen as a U-turn from his position a few months ago. The 53-year-old, who accompanied Union minister Rajyavardhan Rathore as he filed his nomination for the Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha seat, called on people to vote for the BJP in the national elections.
Highlighting the BJP's focus on nationalism and national security, the yoga teacher sought a stronger mandate for PM Modi, whom he once termed his "close friend".
"To make India a world economic and political superpower in next 20-25 years, we have to make Modi stronger. In his hands, the country is safe; the future of our jawans is safe, honor and respect of women is safe and farms of farmers are safe," Ramdev said.
PM Modi is the only one who can protect the nation, Ramdev, said, calling the prime minister "the pride of Bharat Mata".
He also targeted the Congress party over its basic minimum income scheme, NYAY. "Now is the time to punish them. 'Nyay' will happen now at every booth and will be delivered by the public. Voters will do justice now," Ramdev said.

"Biopic Joke, Make Comedy Film On Him": Urmila Matondkar Attacks PM Modi

Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar on Thursday took a savage dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he didn't deserve a biopic as he failed to deliver anything like the head of the government. Ms. Matondkar, who is contesting the national election in Mumbai North as a Congress candidate, further said a comedy film should be made on the PM.
"The biopic made on his (PM Modi's) life is nothing but a joke as the prime minister, who claims to have a 56-inch-chest, has miserably failed to deliver anything. The movie made on his life is a joke on the democracy, poverty, and diversity of India, which has been damaged," Ms. Matondkar quoted.
"Rather, a comedy film should be made on him and his unfulfilled promises," she added.
