In the field of e-waste, 5 lakh jobs will be generated in the country till 2025


By the year 2025, there may be about 5 lakh jobs in India in the field of e-waste i.e electronic waste. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Finance Institute focused on the private sector in emerging markets, has conveyed this estimate.
According to IFC, there will be 450,000 direct jobs created by 2025 in complete chain-collection, aggregation, dismantling and recycling in the electronic waste area. In addition, thousands of indirect jobs will also be created. Also, there is a possibility of creating 180,000 jobs in allied sectors like transport and manufacturing.
IFC 2012 is operating in the e-waste area. According to the government's e-waste (Management and Handling) Rule 2016, a productive responsibility organization (PRO), named 'IFC' and 'Karoj Possible', to show that the ground level in India for the challenges of the region But solutions are possible, in 2017, the India E-Waste program was launched.
This program focuses on supporting the PRO model and developing the ecosystem for responsible e-waste management. Under the program, more than 4,000 metric tonnes of e-waste has been collected from citizens and corporations and it has been recycled responsibly.
